# The Creative's Bill of Rights

A Manifesto for African Creatives on Afruniverse

At Afruniverse, we believe that African creatives deserve more than gigs — they deserve dignity, protection, and fair compensation. This Bill of Rights is our binding commitment to every creative who trusts us with their career.

---

Article I — The Right to Fair Pay

Every creative on Afruniverse has the right to set their own rates based on their skill, experience, and the value they deliver. We will never allow race-to-the-bottom pricing. Clients pay for quality, and creatives are compensated accordingly.

Article II — The Right to Secure Payment

Funds are held securely by Afruniverse until you approve the final work. No creative shall ever deliver work without payment protection. Every project is backed by our Secure Payment Protection system — your money is guaranteed the moment the client funds the project.

Article III — The Right to Fair Dispute Resolution

If a disagreement arises, both parties have equal access to our dispute resolution process. An impartial Afruniverse administrator will review all evidence and make a fair ruling. No creative will be penalized without due process.

Article IV — The Right to Portfolio Ownership

All work samples, showreels, and portfolio pieces uploaded to Afruniverse remain the intellectual property of the creative. We will never claim ownership of your creative work. You may remove your content at any time.

Article V — The Right to a Discrimination-Free Platform

Afruniverse is built on the principle that talent has no borders, no gender, and no ethnicity. We have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. Every creative is evaluated solely on the quality of their craft.

Article VI — The Right to Transparent Terms

No hidden fees. No surprise deductions. Every commission, platform fee, and payout schedule is clearly stated before you accept any project. What you see is what you earn.

Article VII — The Right to Timely Payment

Once a client approves your work (or the 14-day auto-release window expires), your funds are credited to your Earnings Dashboard immediately. You may withdraw to your bank account at any time, subject to standard processing times.

Article VIII — The Right to Professional Growth

Afruniverse is committed to investing in its creative community through educational resources, featured profiles, blog spotlights, and networking opportunities. Your growth is our growth.

Article IX — The Right to Privacy

Your personal information, financial data, and communications are protected. We comply with Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and will never sell your data to third parties.

Article X — The Right to Voice

Every creative has the right to provide feedback, suggest features, and shape the future of this platform. Afruniverse was built by creatives, for creatives — and it will always stay that way.

*This Bill of Rights is effective as of March 2026 and applies to all creatives registered on the Afruniverse platform.*
