A 24-Year Vision for Africa’s Creative Future

The story of Afruniverse isn't just about code; it's about a relentless refusal to let African talent be silenced.

The Pioneer’s Persistence

In 2001, long before the modern digital era, Kingsley Obi Lekan (Lordlekan) launched vogueinafrica.com. It was the beginning of a quintessential journey—a belief that the growth and development of African creatives was the key to unlocking the continent’s true potential.

Forged in Frustration

For over two decades, Kingsley faced the "Developer’s Curse." Attempt after attempt to build a viable home for African talent failed—not for lack of vision, but because of a broken industry. He was ghosted and shortchanged by developers who took payments in full and vanished.

"I created Afruniverse so that no creative in Africa would ever have to feel the sting of being ghosted or shortchanged again."

The Convergence of AI & Purpose

The issue weighed heavily on his consciousness until the blueprint for Afruniverse finally dropped. Innovation, Kingsley believes, must improve on existing foundations to create a "New Era."

With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, the barriers that stood for 24 years finally crumbled. What was once a dream deferred is now a reality—built with precision, transparency, and a deep-seated respect for the creative process.

Our Mission

Under the leadership of Capt Kingsley Consulting Limited, Afruniverse is more than a marketplace. It is a sanctuary for African talent—where innovation meets integrity.
