Introduction

Welcome to Afruniverse ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using Afruniverse, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Afruniverse operates as a managed freelance marketplace and agency, connecting clients with pre-vetted African creative professionals. Our Platform facilitates the discovery, hiring, and payment of creative services.

1. User Accounts

1.1 Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

1.2 Identity information

You agree to provide accurate account information. Afruniverse may invite you to submit a government-issued ID for manual review. ID submission is optional and is not required to register or to appear in the public talent directory. Where a document is submitted, Afruniverse reviews it administratively; this is not an automated or government-database identity verification. Email verification is required before certain marketplace and payout-related actions. Some features may also be limited if an account is suspended, restricted, or blacklisted under our policies, including the Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Payment Protection and Disbursement

2.1 Transaction Processing

Afruniverse utilizes secure payment infrastructure to facilitate transactions between Clients and Creatives. All payments are processed through our payment gateway provider.

2.2 Payment Protection

Payments for job hires are processed through Paystack in accordance with the payment arrangement applicable to the transaction. Afruniverse provides a documented workroom for delivery, revisions and client approval. Unless expressly stated for a particular transaction, Afruniverse does not hold job-hire funds in escrow pending client approval.

2.3 Disbursement of Funds

For job hires, Paystack handles allocation and bank settlement on its schedule. Client approval in the workroom records project completion on Afruniverse and does not trigger a separate fund release by Afruniverse.

2.4 Earnings Dashboard

Any balance reflected on a User's profile is a reporting of recorded marketplace earnings and payout status where applicable. This is a ledger of marketplace transactions and not a virtual currency wallet.

3. Dispute Resolution

3.1 Payment Protection & Refund Policy

If work does not meet the agreed specifications, the client may request revisions or submit an eligible refund or dispute request for review under Afruniverse's applicable policies. Depending on the circumstances and outcome of the review, a resolution may include a partial or full refund. Approved refunds are processed in accordance with applicable payment-provider rules and procedures.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Upon full payment and client approval of delivery in the workroom, intellectual property rights transfer from the creative to the client.

5. Additional Terms

Afruniverse's liability is limited to the fees collected for the specific transaction in dispute. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
