Terms of Service

1.1 Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

1.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

1.3 Account Types

• Client Accounts: For individuals or businesses seeking to hire creative professionals.
• Creative Accounts: For freelance professionals offering creative services on the Platform.
• Dual Accounts: Users may operate as both clients and creatives.

1.4 Identity Verification

We require identity verification (KYC) for all users to ensure platform safety and comply with applicable laws. Unverified accounts may have limited access to Platform features.

2.1 Escrow Protection

All payments on Afruniverse are processed through our secure escrow system. When a client purchases a service or hires a creative, funds are held in escrow until the work is completed and approved.

2.2 Payment Process

• Deposit: Clients fund escrow before work begins.
• Work Delivery: Creatives submit watermarked deliverables for review.
• Approval: Clients review and approve the work.
• Release: Upon approval, funds are released to the creative.

2.3 Platform Fees

Afruniverse charges a service fee on all transactions. Current fee structure:

• Client Service Fee: 5% of transaction value
• Creative Service Fee: 10% of earnings

2.4 Auto-Release

If a client does not respond to a delivery within 7 days, funds may be automatically released to the creative. Clients will receive multiple reminders before auto-release.

2.5 Withdrawals

Creatives may withdraw their available balance to their linked bank account. Withdrawals are processed within 1-3 business days, subject to verification.

3.1 Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 100% money-back guarantee for clients who are not satisfied with the delivered work, subject to our dispute resolution process.

3.2 Dispute Process

• Step 1: Client raises a dispute through the order page.
• Step 2: Both parties provide evidence and communicate through our dispute center.
• Step 3: Afruniverse mediates and reviews all submitted evidence.
• Step 4: A resolution is issued within 5-7 business days.

3.3 Resolution Outcomes

Resolutions may include: full refund to client, partial refund, revision requirements, or release of funds to creative. Our decision is final and binding.

3.4 Refund Eligibility

Refunds are available when: work does not match the agreed specifications, creative fails to deliver within the agreed timeframe, or communication has completely broken down.

4.1 Ownership Transfer

Upon full payment and release of escrow funds, all intellectual property rights in the deliverables transfer from the creative to the client, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.2 Watermark Protection

Deliverables are watermarked until the client approves and releases payment. This protects both parties: clients can review work before final payment, and creatives retain ownership until paid.

4.3 Portfolio Rights

Creatives retain the right to display completed work in their portfolio for promotional purposes, unless the client has purchased exclusive/confidential services.

4.4 Platform Content

All content on the Afruniverse platform, including logos, text, and designs, is owned by Afruniverse and may not be used without our express written permission.

5.1 Prohibited Conduct

Users may not: circumvent payments outside the platform, harass other users, submit fraudulent work, create multiple accounts, or violate any applicable laws.

5.2 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Users may also delete their accounts at any time, subject to any outstanding obligations.

5.3 Limitation of Liability

Afruniverse's liability is limited to the fees collected for the specific transaction in dispute. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

5.4 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.
