Introduction

Welcome to Afruniverse ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using Afruniverse, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Afruniverse operates as a managed freelance marketplace and agency, connecting clients with pre-vetted African creative professionals. Our Platform facilitates the discovery, hiring, and payment of creative services.

1. User Accounts

1.1 Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

1.2 Identity Verification (KYC)

We require identity verification for all users. Unverified accounts may have limited access to Platform features, including payout restrictions for creatives.

2. Payment Protection and Disbursement

2.1 Transaction Processing

Afruniverse utilizes secure payment infrastructure to facilitate transactions between Clients and Creatives. All payments are processed through our payment gateway provider.

2.2 Payment Protection

To ensure project delivery, funds are processed under a 'Payment Protection' model. Once a payment is made, it is held securely as a Pending Settlement. These funds are not accessible for withdrawal by the Creative until the project milestones are confirmed as 'Completed' by the Client.

2.3 Disbursement of Funds

Upon successful delivery and Client approval, the system triggers a disbursement. The funds (minus platform fees) are settled directly into the Creative's bank account.

2.4 Earnings Dashboard

Any 'Balance' reflected on a User's profile is a reporting of Pending or Cleared Settlements awaiting the next automated payout cycle. This is a ledger of marketplace transactions and not a virtual currency wallet.

3. Dispute Resolution

3.1 Payment Protection & Refund Guarantee

We offer a 100% refund guarantee if work does not meet agreed specifications. During a dispute, funds remain securely held until our mediation team issues a final decision.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Upon full payment and release of protected funds, intellectual property rights transfer from the creative to the client.

5. Additional Terms

Afruniverse's liability is limited to the fees collected for the specific transaction in dispute. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
